About the speaker
DeeAnn attended Western Washington University and received a Bachelors degree
in Ecosystems Analysis from Huxley College. She then worked for various government
agencies and environmental groups including the Environmental Protection
Agency, the Forest Service, the City of Seattle, and the Washington Environmental
Council, where she focused primarily on fish habitat issues. After working
for the Suquamish Indian Tribe where she developed their fish habitat protection
program, she went back to school to get her Masters degree from the UW at
the School of Marine Affairs. Her Masters thesis was entitled "Evaluating
the Effectiveness of Stormwater Policies in Protecting Streams". She
expanded her fish habitat work designing and constructing stream habitat
restoration projects for King County, and now works for the National Marine
Fisheries Service, where she is the stormwater lead for the Washington State
Habitat Office.
