Need field and lab assistants?

Undergraduate students at UW-Tacoma, in order to fulfill research credits would like to assist graduate students in their research projects. If you need field or lab help and have limited funds take advantage of this program now.

What you need to do:

write a summary (about 1 page) of research goals, specific needs/tasks for undergrad, timeline needed, and location of work

highlight how research can be a learning opportunity for undergrads

meet with Jim or other faculty advisor and potential undergrad assistant before quarter begins

Send this information to Jim Gawel at UW-Tacoma.

Other things to keep in mind:

undergrads sign up for 1-5 credits of "research" per quarter with 1 credit-hour equaling 30 hours of work/quarter

undergrads have to complete a final paper/presentation for their grade and so some of their work time needs to be saved for working on this final project.

graduate student will be asked to assess the work of the undergrad to help provide a grade

UW-Tacoma has some lab space available for graduate students and their
undergraduate helpers to use. They're really trying to encourage more of this kind of collaboration.
